This was my first time reading Ms.John's work and it won't be the last!! I loved that with every turn of the page I had no clue what would happen next and I was anxious throughout. Secrets, Lies, Love, Family, and Heartache collide in this emotional tale!! At certain points I had no idea what to think and I kept worrying for the characters. This book kept me on my toes and gripping my kindle till the very end!! A Husband By Any Other Name tugged on my heart strings. The lines between right and wrong are blurred and I kept questioning myself as to what side I was on.
I was glad that there was multiple POVs instead of just one and I knew what was going on in the main characters minds. Dan and Lorraine's story broke my heart and warmed it as well. It was beautiful, sad, sweet, intense, and full of surprises! The one thing that kept popping up in my mind is - "What would you do for love?" Ms.John created such an engaging story where the truth can either make or break the characters but it's up to them to decide if love is worth the risk! I can't wait to check out more of her work!! )
Dan Beckett was a character that like any other human being wanted approval from the people he loved. When his twin brother left he took his place. By doing so he got to be with the woman he loved. Fast forward 14 years later guilt still eats away at him daily and when his brother returns with no memory of his life it's time for him to face the music. Even though he lied I didn't hate him as a character. I actually adored him and the honest love that he had for his family was a thing of beauty. I didn't like the pain he went through and my heart hurt for him. I hoped in the end everyone would know the truth so he could finally breathe and be happy. Also, I hoped his loved ones would understand even though what he had to say was major.
Lorraine was a character that wanted to make her own choices in life especially when it came to who she loved. When she discovers some life changing news not only is she worried but she's fearful of losing everything. The first thing she did was drive to her boyfriend's house to tell him. She never expected her that night for her life to change more. Fast forward 14 years she's happily married with children. When her husband reveals that he's not who he says he is her world is turned upside down. Angry at herself and even more angry at him she doesn't know what to do. The thing is her husband isn't the only one hiding secrets. My heart broke for her and what she went through. I understood her actions as well. I hoped in the end she wouldn't give up on love and that she'd stay with Dan.
When the secrets are uncovered and the truth is finally revealed will love be enough? Or will the heartbreak be too much?
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a read that will make you think and make you feel all kinds of emotions. It shows what love can make people do some crazy things and we all make mistakes but it's how you own up to them enough to move forward. I liked that even though things were serious in this book it was uplifting as well. I would love to read more books about this family especially the kids!! Now I'm craving both chocolate cake and lemon chiffon cake like the Beckett boys!! If you haven't already One-Clicked Buy It Today!! You won't regret reading this wonderful romance!! 4.5 Stars all around!! )

Tom left home because he felt smothered. His father expected him to take over the farm he hated. His girlfriend wanted more from him than he was able to give. He had different dreams and a wanderlust heart. He never intended to return home. He never thought returning home would be just what he needed in his life.
As the story unfolds and the truth comes out, it will set Dan, Tom, and Lorraine free. Their lives will take a different path. A path that leads to happiness for them all.
This is the first book I have read by author Cheryl St. John. I thoroughly enjoyed it and have high praise for the delivery for the writing. The delivery was emotional as well as truthful. She took the characters on a journey that involved the real realities in life. This book did not come off as a happily ever romance that was easily fixed. The characters had to face all the realities a situation like this would create.
I highly recommend this book!
A tale of everlasting love that has been tested & hard won, surrounded by a family with imperfections. Love won out.
A good sweet story about mistakes and forgiveness.about true love and learning from those mistakes. This is well written with detailed descriptions.
Loved this book. It was the first one I had read by Cheryl St John. Being from Nebraska I enjoyed the local references Will definitely be reading more of her books.
