I found this book very interesting and informative. It exposed a culture that we are fairly immersed in in my part of BC but we do not always know much about. It is very difficult for the young people to live like typical westerners when their parents act like they are in their homeland. A sad case that will likely have little impact on others in a similar situation. It is hard to believe that one could do this to a family member. A well written book that keeps your interest.Product details

Great book at the beginning but, towards the end of the book , the story tends to be more about the husband Sukhwinder and his childhood and the political strife of the Sikhs in India...I didn't like how the story derailed from the title which is about the tragic death and murder of Jassi NOT about the Sikh struggle or Sukhwinder's views on politics
